Charles Allen Whitehurst Jr.

Charles "Chuck" Allen Whitehurst Jr. died September 9, 2006.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at St. Francis Episcopal Church, followed by interment in the church memorial garden.

Mr. Whitehurst served as General Manager of WFMY News 2 from 1973-1979, was president of the Greensboro Jaycees in 1969 and served on the Vestry of St. Francis Episcopal Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Peter Weldon Whitehurst and is survived by his daughter, Jane Whitehurst, and his son, Charles Allen Whitehurst III and daughter-in-law, Diane of Milton, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Francis Episcopal Church, 3506 Lawndale Dr., Greensboro, NC 27408.

As you may have seen in the Obituaries in the News and Record, Chuck Whitehurst recently passed away. Chuck was Jaycee President in 1969 and was General Manager of WFMY News 2 from 1973-1979.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, December 19th, at St. Francis Episcopal Church.Those attending are encouraged to wear Green Coats. May our thoughts and prayers be with the Whitehurst family.

Chrysler Classic Clothing Sale

The Wyndham Championship is raising money for Kids Path’s Holiday Cheer program. The final Chrysler Classic Christmas Clothing Sale will be held this Thursday & Friday, December 14th and 15th , 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Greensboro Jaycees Office, and 100% of the money from the clothing sale will go to the Holiday Cheer fund to help children and families in need of cheer and support this holiday season.
