"Among the questions are how such a schedule would impact fall events such as the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro that would, based on the current schedule, be played after the Tour Championship. There has been much speculation about whether some of those events might disappear if the Tour contracts."

Kite Could Replace Snead as the Oldest Winner on TOUR
"If Kite can hold on Sunday a daunting task considering the players on his heels he would surpass Sam Snead as the tour's oldest winner. Snead was 52 when he won the 1965 Greater Greensboro Open. "

Greensboro Jaycees Contributed $500,000 to Bryan Park
"The long range planning for Bryan Park, which began in the early 1960's, was to develop a family oriented recreational facility and golf complex. In 1970, the voters of the City of Greensboro approved a $950,000 bond issue for the development of Bryan Park and Golf Course. Because of years of interest and generous support to the entire community, the park was dedicated in honor of Joseph and Kathleen Bryan in May of 1971.
Later in 1971, the Bryan's purchased a tract of land adjoining the park and donated the land to the City of Greensboro for the further development of Bryan Park. The first development phase of Bryan Park focused on the construction of the golf course and clubhouse. George Cobb was chosen to design the golf course. The course and clubhouse were completed and dedicated in late 1974.
In early 1977, the Bryan's pledged financial support to construct a facility to host some of the cultural, educational, social and recreational needs of the community. The architectural firm selected was J. Hyatt Hammond Associates, Inc. The Bryan Enrichment Center was completed and officially opened to the public on July 1, 1978.
On October 8, 1985, the citizens of Greensboro approved the Greensboro One Bond budget of $2,000,000 to construct a new 18-hole golf course at Bryan Park. The Greensboro Jaycees contributed an additional $500,000.
The architect, Rees Jones of Montclair, New Jersey, was selected and commissioned to design a championship golf course. The Champions Course opened for public play in March of 1990."

"Chrysler Classic of Greensboro Ad" from gatecity
"Maybe I have just not notice before, but I did today. There is no mention of the Greensboro Jaycees anywhere in the insert about the GGO this October. Has the Jaycees presence been downplayed for awhile, or just recently?
Of course, the Jaycees will not be in full control of the tourney much longer, as has been reported in the media. I still find this sad, but neccessary. "

Where Are They Now? 1990 Kmart Greater Greensboro Open General Chairman-Keith A Holliday?
"Citing his six years of experience as mayor, Holliday said Wednesday that he will run for a fourth term this fall.
"It's clear that the experience that I've got and the connections I have will be vital to support some of these things," he said.
Holliday said he made the decision after hearing from friends and constituents that they wanted him to run again. After getting his wife and employer on board for another term, Holliday decided he still had the drive and energy for the job.
"You have to ask, do you have the energy to do this for another two years? The answer is yes," he said. "When I think I can't work that hard, that's the time to quit.""

Let's Compare Apples to Apples
"At the Chrysler Classic of Greensboro, a PGA Tour stop since 1938 , perhaps 200 to 300 spectators attend Monday’s pro-am and practice rounds at Forest Oaks Country Club. The sponsors would be overjoyed if the tournament attracted a Saturday or Sunday gallery the size of the one at Pinehurst on Monday."

It just does not seem fair to compare the two events. One is after all a Major and part of the Grand Slam. It's like comparing the News and Record's circulation of 112,154 with that of the Charlotte Observer's circulation of 282,990. I mean what's the point?

Did You Know?-Scott Hoch vs Sam Snead
When Scott Hoch won the 2001 Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic, he was presented with the Sam Snead Trophy. It was fitting that Sam Snead was there to present the trophy. Hoch is the oldest player to win the tournament, at the age of 45, since Snead won it in 1965 at the age of 52.

The 2005 Annual Jaycees Open - Chaired by David Leppert
"This event is chaired by davidleppert Leppert . It will run Friday, June 24, 2005 from 5:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The location of the event is Sea Trails Plantation, Sunset Beach, NC.
The following is a description of the event:
This project is specifically for recreation and will commence on June 24th of 2005. It will run throughout the weekend. We will be returning to Greensboro on Sunday June 26th. We will leave Greensboro on Friday for Sunset beach NC, specifically the Sea Trail Plantation and Golf Resort. I would like to leave the Jaycees office at 5:00pm. We will arrive at the golf resort at around 8:30pm where we will check in, get situated, and enjoy a night of comradery and friendship.
On Saturday, June 25th, we will golf our first round at the Sea Trail Plantation where we will divide into teams of four. The best team will win a CHAMPIONS TROPHY, and the worst team will win a HIGH STROKER TROPHY. This should help foster teamwork among the groups. We will be playing a captains choice tournament.
Note, you do not have to be a good golfer to enjoy the weekend. Only the best ball is played out of all four shots. Rules will be discussed further upon arrival. I would like to tee off anywhere between 10:00am and Noon. It should take between 4 and 5 hours. After play has come to an end, we will all go to dinner at a yet to be determined location. Later that evening we will again enjoy each others company and possibly find some evening activities (also yet to be determined).
We will be checking out of the hotel on Sunday June 26th, but will be playing our last round of golf that morning. I hope to tee off at 9:00am. That should put our departure time between 1:30pm and 2:30pm. We should arrive back in Greensboro no later than 6:00pm Sunday evening. The cost associated with Golfing and both nights of hotel stay will be $193.00. This number includes the hotel, two rounds of golf, carts, and taxes. I will be in contact with the golf course to see if we can work any further deals. Please contact David Leppert with questions. Cellular number: 336-420-3676 "
