Yahoo Sports names Wyndham Championship 5th best tournament of the year
"5. Wyndham Championship -- It was one of those tournaments that gave us such an exciting finish, and another on this list that included Jordan Spieth, who couldn't hold off Patrick Reed on his way to a first ever PGA Tour win.
Spieth and Reed both ended regulation at 14-under, and while Reed played the opening playoff hole very solidly, it was Spieth who was forced to hole a downhill 25-footer to save par. Reed's birdie putt on the opening playoff hole just missed, and an errant drive on the second playoff ended just a few feet from the out of bounds.
No worries, as Reed hit one of the shots of the year from the pine straw, ending up just seven feet from the hole and knocking that putt in for the birdie and the win."

What's on ebay? 1972 GGO Decanter
"Very good condition Ezra Brooks Genuine Heritage HAND DECORATED WITH 24 GOLD "Greater Greensboro Open" empty Whiskey Decanter. 1938-1972. Interesting the N in the word China is upside down. A little history: The tournament was founded in 1938 as the Greater Greensboro Open. The event has been played in Greensboro for its entire history. In its first four years, it was played at both Sedgefield Country Club and Starmount Forest Country Club, and shifted to solely Starmount Forest CC in 1942 and for the first time it was played after World War II in 1945. Starting with that 1945 event, it alternated between Starmount Forest CC and Sedgefield CC until 1952, when Starmount Forest CC hosted for a 2nd year in a row. It returned to Sedgefield CC in 1953 before Starmount Forest CC hosted three consecutive years (through 1956). Sedgefield CC hosted in 1957 before Starmount Forest CC hosted another three straight 1958-60, then back to Sedgefield from 1961 to 1976."

Owen Covington reports "New agreement in the works for Wyndham Championship"
"But generally speaking, the Jaycees are considering investing in the foundation using the proceeds of the building sale, which were $679,871 according to the group's tax filings, and forgoing annual financial support from the foundation in the future.
The foundation in return would provide the Jaycee membership with perks and involvement opportunities related to the Wyndham, as well as operational support from foundation staff and leadership development opportunities possibly involving the foundation's board, which is made up of prominent members of the Triad business community."

What's on ebay? Wood Frame Matted Print Signed Arthur Sarnoff
"Wood Frame Matted Print Signed Arthur Sarnoff.
Wonderfully illustrated print of the Greater Greensboro Open Golf Tournament, surrounded by the beautiful Sedgefield Inn. Spectators looking on as Gary Player (well known for his black attire), attempting his putt at the 18th hole. Unsure, but I do believe this to be a lithograph print, however I am unwilling to tear the back off to determine so.
Research shows this to be a print of an original painting "SEDGEFIELD" as commissioned for "The Greater Greensboro Open", I believe to be illustrating the 1970 golf tournament.
This framed print measures 22 3/4" x 17", original paper backing remains attached, as well as the wire for hanging.
Condition of this piece is great, with little to no fading of the very colorful print, colors remaining vibrant. Condition issues to be noted; wood frame has some scratches present, but is sturdy with joints remaining tight. Minimal yellowing around the white matted edges. Original paper backing also remains attached, with few stains, tears, some areas around the edges where it has pulled loose. Glass / Plexiglass is clear, free of any cracks or breaks.
Great framed print for the avid collector of Golf Memorabilia!"
