Davis Love III wins Wyndham Championship
Davis Love III, -17, won the Wyndham Championship for the third time (1992, 2006 & 2015) after firing a final round 64, the second-lowest round of the day and his best closing round in Greensboro since a 62 in 1992.
Love (-17, 263, 64-66-69-64) played the front nine at -4 with a lot of action. His first seven holes were bogey, birdie, birdie, eagle, birdie, bogey to make the turn at -15 overall. On the back, he made a 12’ 2” putt for eagle on #15 to go in as the clubhouse leader.
Love became the second three-time winner of the Wyndham Championship, joining 8-time champion Sam Snead. He became the second player over 50 to win the Wyndham Championship, joining Snead, who accomplished the feat 50 years ago. At 51 years, four months, Love becomes the third oldest PGA TOUR winner, behind Snead (52 years, 10 months, 1965 Greater Greensboro Open) and Art Wall (51 years, 7 months, 1975 Greater Milwaukee Open).

Wyndham Championship and Uber Joining Forces
The Wyndham Championship and Uber are joining forces to offer golf fans access to an on-demand, safe transportation option throughout the 2015 Wyndham Championship. Attendees can use the Uber app to request a ride to drop them off right at the tournament entrance.
Uber will have its own drop-off and pick-up location in close proximity to the tournament’s main entrance. Uber/Wyndham Championship signage will make it clear fans are in the correct location and there will also be more information in the Uber app. First time Uber riders can download the app from the App Store and use the promo code WCGOLF15 for a free first ride, up to $20 in value. Users can also sign up at https://get.uber.com/go/WCGOLF15.
“The safety of all Wyndham Championship spectators is always our top priority,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “Golf fans from throughout the Carolinas and Virginia can see many of the best golfers in the world this weekend, and we want to do our part to make sure everyone gets home safely following a fun escape to the Wyndham by providing access to safe, reliable rides on-demand using the Uber app.”
A portion of proceeds from rides to and from the Wyndham Championship will benefit the tournament’s official charity. Users can request their ride by selecting the “GOLF” option in the Uber app. For each GOLF ride taken, $1 will be donated to Birdies For Backpacks, which funds 501(c)(3) charitable organizations to fill backpacks with nutritionally sound meals for low income, Piedmont Triad-area children to take home on weekend

Tiger Woods will play 2015 Wyndham Championship

Woods announced that he would make his first Wyndham Championship appearance.
“This is obviously huge news for the Wyndham Championship,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “I’m most excited for golf fans throughout the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina who have stayed with us through thick and thin. We’ve had some great events over the last 10 years, and this one will obviously be very special with an unbelievable field – the best in our tournament history. Tiger choosing to play here is the icing on the cake.”
In Wednesday’s Louis DeJoy and Aldona Z. Wos Family Foundation Pro-Am, Woods will tee off at 7 a.m. with Los Angeles Clippers star Chris Paul, an alumnus of nearby Wake Forest University.
With Woods now confirmed in the Wyndham Championship field, Wednesday public parking, originally scheduled for American Premier Furniture on Gate City Blvd. (Formerly High Point Road), will move to the Greensboro Coliseum parking lot and remain there through Sunday.

Tiger Woods Enters 2015 Wyndham Championship Field
Tiger Woods has entered the field for the 2015 Wyndham Championship. Woods is a 14-time major Championship winner and a 79-time PGA TOUR winner with 12 international wins and 14 “other” victories also to his credit. His career PGA TOUR win total is second only to that of Sam Snead who won the Greater Greensboro Open eight times among his 82 career victories.
“We’re obviously excited that Tiger has entered our field,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “He still needs to finish his second round and see where he ends up. We have been in touch with Tiger’s agent all week and understand that Tiger has entered the field to keep his options open. We’re hopeful that he will tee it up at the Wyndham next week.

Adam Scott Joins 2015 Wyndham Championship Field
Adam Scott, currently No. 11 in the Official World Golf Rankings, will play the 2015 Wyndham Championship starts Monday at Sedgefield Country Club.Scott became the first Australian to win the Masters Tournament after he birdied the second playoff hole to defeat Angel Cabrera in 2013. A former No. 1 golfer in the world, Scott has 11 PGA TOUR victories and 13 international wins to his credit. Scott has some excellent finishes this season finishing tied for fourth at the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship and the U.S. Open Championship and tied for 10th at the Open Championship. Scott will make his third Wyndham Championship appearance and his first since 2009. He is 90th in the FedExCup point standings.

2015 Wyndham Championship Tropical Wear Contest
Wyndham Championship Tropical Wear Contest – the very popular event returns this year for a fourth run.
Grass skirts, floral shirts, snorkels, flippers, leis and straw hats are just some of the props used in previous Wyndham Championship Tropical Wear Contests. Fans attending the Wyndham Championship next week will have another chance to win a vacation from Wyndham Worldwide. On Saturday, Aug. 23 during the third round of the Wyndham, Piedmont Triad golf fans should escape to the Wyndham in their most creative tropical outfits. Tropical wear such as beach hats, sandals, Hawaiian shirts, shorts, skirts, grass skirts, sarongs, cover-ups, scuba gear, etc. are examples of acceptable contest attire. Clothing that is not widely considered family friendly, at the discretion of the judges, will not be eligible for the contest.
First place will receive a six-day, five-night stay at the Wyndham Rio Mar, Puerto Rico. Second place will receive a four-day, three-night stay at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside, and third place will receive a four-day, three-night stay at the Wyndham Beacon Hill in Boston. Winners must be at least 18 years of age. Access to the beach viewing platform will be randomly distributed to people that are dressed in tropical attire. Every person that participates in the contest will instantly receive a drink ticket good for one complimentary beverage (beer, wine, soda or water) at the Margaritaville at the Wyndham concession area.
Wyndham Championship officials will be on the course Saturday looking for the best, most creative tropical outfits; those fans whose outfits warrant tournament staff to take notice will be invited to participate in the contest. At 2 p.m. on Saturday, the Tropical Wear contest will begin at Margaritaville at the Wyndham located adjacent to the Sedgefield clubhouse. Tropical wear-clad fans can also participate in the contest by simply showing up at Margaritaville at the Wyndham prior to judging on Saturday to be a part of the official contest. WKRR – Rock 92 morning show hosts Chris Kelly and Biggie will judge the competition.

2009 Wyndham Championship Winner Ryan Moore Returns
Ryan Moore won the Wyndham in 2009 following a thrilling three-way playoff with Jason Bohn and Kevin Stadler; it was his first PGA TOUR victory. Now a four-time PGA TOUR winner, he won the CIMB Classic earlier this season to become the first player in tournament history to defend his CIMB Classic title. The Tacoma, Wash., native also finished fifth at the Valspar Championship. Moore will make his eighth Wyndham Championship appearance.
