What's on eBay? 1967 Greater Greensboro Open (GGO) Program and Jaycee Projector
"1967 Greater Greensboro Open (GGO) Program and Jaycee Projector
This program and Jaycees (civic organization and the main sponsor) special edition magazine represent the GGO (what locals called it then) golf tournament played in Greensboro, NC. It is now called the Wyndham Championship. The tournament has had a lot of name changes but it has never left Greensboro and it started in 1938.
The program has all the stats, bios, ads, photos, and local info. like any program, plus, many interesting articles. Inside, Woody Durham, yes, the late voice of the UNC Tar Heels, was a local t.v. channel sports director then, wrote a synopsis of every GGO played up to 1967. Bob Hope starred at the pre-tournament banquet (see pic).
There is a foldout, layout of the course on the first page. George Archer won this 1967 tournament. Some former winners up to 1967 were Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan and Sam Snead. This program is packed and has 116 pages. It is in very good plus condition."

What's on eBay? 1967 Golf World Magazine
"Here is a nice copy of the April 7, 1967 issue of Golf World magazine, featuring a great cover photo of George Archer. Mr. Archer had just won the Greater Greensboro Open, the 2nd of his 13 career PGA Tour victories, and this issue has a fine account of his 2-shot win over Doug Sanders at Sedgefield Country Club. The 34-page magazine also has coverage of the LPGA Louise Suggs Invitational (won by Susie Maxwell in a play-of over Sandra Haynie at Cypress Creek CC in Florida), the Far Western Intercollegiate (where San Jose State won the team title and Jerry Heard took individual honors) and more. This 50-year old magazine minor shows signs of general age wear but is a complete and attractive example. Addressed on the cover to 1969 Ryder Cup team member Ken Still I will be glad to answer any questions you may have or arrange for combined shipping should you win multiple auctions."

The Wyndham Championship field includes eight former champions: Henrik Stenson (2017), Si Woo Kim (2016), Davis Love III (1992, 2006, 2015), Sergio Garcia (2012), Webb Simpson (2011), Ryan Moore (2009), Carl Pettersson (2008) and Brandt Snedeker (2007).
Garcia to Play 2018 Wyndham Championship
Sergio Garcia will play the 2018 Wyndham Championship.
Garcia is making his fifth Wyndham appearance and his first since 2013 when he defended his title here. In addition to his Wyndham Championship win in 2012, he finished fourth here in 2009. A native of Spain now living in Switzerland, Garcia has 10 PGA TOUR wins and 21 international victories.
Garcia’s best PGA TOUR finishes this year are tied for fourth at the Valspar Championship, tied for seventh at the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship and tied for ninth at the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play; he won the SMBC Singapore Open (Asia) earlier this year. Garcia is known for his Ryder Cup prowess having represented the European team eight times; he is working to make the team for this year’s matches in Paris next month. Garcia, whose first child was born in March, is currently 131st in the FedExCup point standings and 23rd in the Official World Golf Rankings.
“This news is obviously big for the Wyndham and all of our fans,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “Sergio is incredibly popular in the Triad, and this will be a great opportunity for us to congratulate him on his 2017 Masters win and cheer him on throughout the week. Sergio loves Sedgefield and our fans, and we’re excited to have him back at the Wyndham.”

HondaJet Named Official Aircraft
Honda Aircraft Company will serve as the Wyndham Championship's “Official Aircraft".
Honda Aircraft Company is supporting the Wyndham Championship on multiple levels, but the most visible is the assistance the company is providing with transportation on its best-in-class aircraft, the HondaJet. A HondaJet picked up PGA TOUR golfer Harold Varner III in Jacksonville, Fla., and brought him to Wyndham Championship media day at Sedgefield Country Club on Aug. 2. The company will provide additional flights as the tournament approaches next week.
In addition, Honda Aircraft Company is the presenting sponsor of the “Champions Club,” a hospitality venue located inside the Sedgefield Country Club clubhouse with five viewing platforms around the course, and the Wyndham Championship practice range where PGA TOUR golfers warm up before rounds and practice throughout the tournament week.
2018 Wyndham Championship Parking
The tournament’s Premier Parking Lot is now located in the northeast portion of the Four Seasons Towne Centre parking lot. The Wyndham Championship section is off Koury Blvd. between Bonefish Grill and Outback Steakhouse. The Premier Parking Lot will be the tournament’s only parking area on Tuesday and Wednesday of tournament week. Premier Parking is $5 Tuesday and Wednesday and $15 Thursday through Sunday.
Public Parking North remains at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, and Public Parking South remains at Furnitureland South Thursday through Sunday; the parking fee is $10 at both locations.
Wyndham Championship Opens Tuesday
The Wyndham Championship will open to tournament patrons on Tuesday, Aug. 14. Opening to the public on Tuesday or Wednesday rather than Monday is a growing trend among PGA TOUR events. The Wyndham will open to patrons on Tuesday with practice rounds for PGA TOUR professionals, the return of Margaritaville at the Wyndham and the tournament’s tropical theme. Monday’s Kevin Harvick Foundation Pro-Am will be played with only pro-am participants and their guests at Sedgefield.

Adam Scott Joins 2018 Wyndham Field
Adam Scott, the 2013 Masters champion, will play the 2018 Wyndham Championship.
Scott became the first Australian to win the Masters after he birdied the second playoff hole to defeat Angel Cabrera at Augusta National. A former No. 1 golfer in the world, Scott has 13 PGA TOUR victories and 13 international wins to his credit. His best finish this season is tied for ninth at the AT&T Byron Nelson. He played for the international team in each of the last eight Presidents Cup Matches. Scott will make his fourth Wyndham Championship appearance and his first since 2015. He is 119th in the FedExCup point standings and 76th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
“Anytime we add a Masters champion to our field, it’s great news,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “Adam Scott has been one of the best players in the world over the last 10 years, and as good a player as he is, he’s an even better person. He’s great with fans and sponsors, and I know a ton of people are really excited that he’s coming back to the Wyndham.”
