"1941 Press Photo Golfer Byron Nelson Phones Wife after Greensboro Open Win. He won first money of $1,200 in the $5,000 Greensboro Open golf tournament with a score of 276. On the 16th hole Nelson realized he'd have to get two birdies in three holes to insure victory. So he promptly knocked the ball for birdies on all three."
