Rickie Fowler to Play Wyndham Championship
Rickie Fowler will play the 2023 Wyndham Championship set for Aug. 3-7, 2022 at Sedgefield Country Club.
Fowler is a five-time PGA TOUR winner with three international wins also to his credit. A California native living in Florida, Fowler hasn’t won this season, but he led The CJ Cup @ Summit after 54 holes and finished tied for third, finished tied for 21st at the Wells Fargo Championship and tied for 23rd at the PGA Championship. He represented the United States in the Ryder Cup matches four times, the Presidents Cup three times and as an amateur in the Walker Cup twice. Fowler finished tied for 22nd in the 2016 Wyndham Championship for his best finish in two previous Wyndham Championship appearances. He is currently 132nd in FedExCup points and 156th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Sungjae Im to Play Wyndham Championship
Sungjae Im will play the 2022 Wyndham Championship set for Aug. 3-7, 2022 at Sedgefield Country Club.
Im is currently 14th in the FedEx Cup point standings and 21st in the Official World Golf Rankings. A native and resident of South Korea, he captured his second-career victory at the Shriners Children’s Open. In addition to that early-season win, Im tied for second yesterday at the 3M Open, tied for sixth at the Farmers Insurance Open and tied for eighth at The Masters. Im is making his fourth overall and fourth-consecutive appearance at the Wyndham Championship; he finished tied for sixth in 2019 for his best Sedgefield showing. He represented the international team in the 2019 Presidents Cup and represented South Korea in the 2020 Summer Olympic Games.
Shane Lowry to Play Wyndham Championship
Shane Lowry will play the 2022 Wyndham Championship set for Aug. 3-7, 2022 at Sedgefield Country Club.
A native and resident of Ireland, Lowry is 13th in the DP World Tour rankings, 24th in the Official World Golf Rankings and 27th in the FedExCup point standings. He won the 2019 Open Championship in Northern Ireland– it was the first Open Championship played outside England and Scotland since 1951. It was his second PGA TOUR victory following the 2015 World Golf Championships – Bridgestone Invitational. Lowry hasn’t won this season but finished second at The Honda Classic, tied for third at the RBC Heritage, tied for third at the Masters Tournament and tied for 10th at the RBC Canadian Open. He finished tied for seventh in the 2017 Wyndham Championship for his best finish in four previous appearances at Sedgefield. He played on the European Team in the 2020 Ryder Cup and represented Ireland in the 2020 Summer Olympic Games.
Harris English to Play Wyndham Championship
Harris English is a four-time PGA TOUR winner. Last season was the best of his career. He won twice, finished 18th in the final FedExCup standings and was selected as a captain’s pick for the Ryder Cup. He entered this season with high hopes of improving on his success but suffered a torn labrum in his right hip and missed four months of the season. With just 12 starts, he is 194th in the FedExCup point standings. English will make his eighth Wyndham Championship start next week; his best result came in 2018 when he finished tied for 18th.
Justin Rose to Play Wyndham Championship
Justin Rose, 2018 FedExCup champion, will play the 2022 Wyndham Championship set for Aug. 3-7, 2022 at Sedgefield Country Club.
Rose, who was the No. 1 player in the world in 2019, has 10 PGA TOUR wins including the 2013 U.S. Open and 12 international victories to his credit. He played on the European Ryder Cup team five times and birdied the final hole at the 2016 Summer Olympic games to win the Gold Medal. Rose is a native of South Africa who grew up in England and currently lives in London.
The 2018 FedExCup champion will make his seventh Wyndham Championship appearance next week; he finished tied for 10th here last year, tied for fifth in 2009 and tied for sixth in 2006. He hasn’t won this season but finished tied for fourth at the RBC Canadian Open after shooting 60 in the final round, tied for sixth at the Farmers Insurance Open and tied for 12th at the RSM Classic. He is 51st in the Official World Golf Rankings, 93rd in FedExCup points and 105th in the DP World Tour standings.

Hatton, Molinari and Willett to Play 2022 Wyndham Championship
Tyrell Hatton, Francesco Molinari and Danny Willett will play the 2022 Wyndham Championship set for Aug. 3-7, 2022 at Sedgefield Country Club.
Hatton is 14th in the DP World Tour standings, 58th in the FedExCup point standings and 28th in the Official World Golf Rankings. A native and resident of England, he has one PGA TOUR victory and six international wins including last year’s Abd Dhabi HSBC Championship. His best PGA TOUR finishes this year are tied for second at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, tied for ninth at the World Golf Championships – Del Technologies Match Play, tied for 11th at last week’s Open Championship at St. Andrews and tied for 13th at the PGA Championship. He missed the cut here in 2016, his only previous Wyndham Championship appearance. He represented Europe in the Ryder Cup in 2018 and ’20.
Molinari, who won the Open Championship in 2018, is a six-time European Tour winner with three PGA TOUR victories to his credit. A native of Turin, Italy now living in Los Angeles, he represented the European team in the Ryder Cup in 2010,’12 and ‘18. He will make his third Wyndham Championship start next month; he finished tied for 24th in 2014 and missed the cut last year. He hasn’t won yet this season but finished tied for sixth at The American Express, tied for 15th at the Open Championship and tied for 17th at the AT&T Byron Nelson. With only 17 starts this season, Molinari is 148th in the DP World Tour standings, 142nd in FedExCup points and 147th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Willett, the 2016 Masters champion, is a native and resident of Sheffield, England. His Masters victory is his lone PGA TOUR win, but he also has seven European Tour victories to his credit. Earlier this season, he finished tied for 12th at the Masters, tied for 21st at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and tied for 21st at the Shriner Hospitals Open. He is 118th in the DP World Tour standings, 137th in the current FedExCup point standings and 136th in the Official World Golf Rankings. Willett represented the European Team in the 2016 Ryder Cup and represented England in the 2016 Summer Olympics. He missed the cut in 2020 during his only previous Wyndham Championship appearance.

Snedeker to Play Wyndham Championship
Brandt Snedeker is coming back to Sedgefield for the Wyndham Championship set for Aug. 3-7, 2022 at Sedgefield Country Club.
Snedeker won the Wyndham Championship in 2007, his first-career win, and again in 2018 shooting a course-record 59 in the first round becoming just the 10th golfer in PGA TOUR history to shoot a sub-60 round in official tournament play. With the win, he became the 10th multiple winner in tournament history. The nine-time PGA TOUR winner hasn’t won this season but finished tied for 14th at The American Express and tied for 18th at the Valero Texas Open.
Snedeker, the 2012 FedExCup champion, is second on the Wyndham Championship career money list with $2,922,725 in 14 appearances here. He is 175th in the FedExCup point standings but is one of just six players to qualify for the FedExCup playoffs in each of the first 15 years of the FedExCup era. He represented the United States in the Ryder Cup in 2012 and ’16 as well as the 2013 Presidents Cup
Cabrera Bello to Play Wyndham Championship
Rafa Cabrera Bello will play the 2022 Wyndham Championship set for Aug. 3-7 at Sedgefield Country Club.
Cabrera Bello returns to the Wyndham Championship on a sponsor’s exemption and will make his fifth appearance. He finished tied for fifth in 2016, for his best finish at Sedgefield. He has five international victories including last year’s ACCIONA Open de EspaƱa. A native and resident of Spain, Cabrera Bello played for the European Team at the 2016 Ryder Cup and finished tied for fifth at the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Brazil. Cabrera Bello is 26th in the European Tour DP World Tour Rankings and 162nd in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Harold Varner to Play Wyndham Championship
Harold Varner III to play the 2022 Wyndham Championship set for Aug. 3-7, 2022 at Sedgefield Country Club.
The East Carolina University alumnus won the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisors early this year – it was his second international victory, but he is still seeking his first PGA TOUR win. His best finishes this season are tied for third at the RBC Heritage, tied for fourth at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and tied for sixth at THE PLAYERS Championship.
Varner is a huge fan favorite making his seventh Wyndham Championship appearance; he was tied for the lead after the first round and finished tied for seventh in 2020 for his best Wyndham Championship finish. The Charlotte resident is 55th in the current FedExCup point standings and 37th in the Official World Golf Rankings.
“Harold has a magnetic personality that translates into how he plays and how he conducts himself,” executive director Mark Brazil said. “His outgoing, fun-loving nature is what makes him such a fan favorite, and it’s one of the reasons he’s one of the most-popular players on TOUR. Webb Simpson to Play Wyndham Championship
Webb Simpson will play the 2022 Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 3-7, 2022 at Sedgefield Country Club.
Simpson is currently 72nd in the Official World Golf Rankings and 115th in FedExCup points. His best finishes this season are tied for eighth at the RSM Classic, tied for 13th at the Travelers Championship and tied for 14th at the CJ Cup @ Summit. He captured his first PGA TOUR victory at the Wyndham Championship in 2011 and went on to win the 2012 U.S. Open 10 months later.
Simpson, who finished tied for seventh here last year, recorded a top-seven finish in each of his last five appearances at Sedgefield. The Wake Forest University alumnus leads the Wyndham Championship career money list with $3,728,335 in 13 appearances. He represented the United States in the Ryder Cup in 2012, ‘14 and ‘18, the Presidents Cup in 2011, ‘13 and ‘19 and the Walker Cup in 2007.

Fleetwood to Play Wyndham Championship
Tommy Fleetwood will play the 2022 Wyndham Championship.
A native and resident of Southport, England, Fleetwood is 26th in the Official World Golf Rankings, No. 9 in the European Tour DP World Tour standings and 47th in FedExCup points. Fleetwood is six-time international winner who played on the European Ryder Cup team in 2018 and 2020 but is still seeking his first PGA TOUR victory. He finished tied for fourth at last week’s Open Championship and the Scottish Open two weeks ago as well as tied for fifth at the PGA Championship. Fleetwood will make his third-straight Wyndham Championship appearance; he finished tied for 59th in 2020 for his best Sedgefield showing.

2022 Wyndham Championship Youth Golf Clinic
The First Tee Youth Golf Clinic at the 2022 Wyndham Championship is set for 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 at the Grandover Resort practice range. The clinic will be conducted by The First Tee – Central Carolina, but PGA TOUR golfers will provide the instruction. This clinic is open to junior golfers ages 7-18, and participation is free of charge. Refreshments will be provided, but space is limited. Only the first 125 junior golfers who register may participate in the clinic. Parents who do not have an existing First Tee – Central Carolina account must create a free account to register. Billy Herschel to Play Wyndham Championship
Billy Horschel, the 2014 FedExCup champion, will play the 2022 Wyndham Championship set for Aug. 3-7, 2022.
The 2014 FedExCup champion is currently 15th in the FedExCup point standings and 15th in the Official World Golf Rankings. A seven-time PGA TOUR winner, he won The Memorial Tournament presented by Workday in June, finished second at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and tied for second at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard earlier this season. The University of Florida alumnus finished second in the 2020 Wyndham Championship and is making his 10th Wyndham Championship appearance.
Davis Love III to Play Wyndham Championship
Three-time champion Davis Love III will play the 2022 Wyndham Championship set for Aug. 3-7, 2022.
Love, who won the Wyndham Championship in 1992, 2006 and ‘15, is making his 25th Wyndham Championship appearance. Only Fuzzy Zoeller (26) and eight-time champion Sam Snead (34) are ahead of him on the all-time starts list. His three titles here are second only Snead. The World Golf Hall of Famer won 21 PGA TOUR events, played in the Ryder Cup six times, was Ryder Cup captain twice and played in the Presidents Cup five times.

Adam Scott to Play Wyndham Championship
Masters champion Adam Scott will play the 2022 Wyndham Championship. The 83rd annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 3-7, 2022.
One year ago, Scott joined 2021 champion Kevin Kisner, 2016 champion Si Woo Kim, Brandon Grace, Kevin Na and Roger Sloan in a six-way playoff that tied the PGA TOUR record for largest playoff to decide the 2021 tournament. Scott played a brilliant shot into the 18th green on the first playoff hole, but his four-foot birdie bid slid just past the hole opening the door for Kisner who made a putt of similar length on the second playoff hole. Scott finished tied for second in his best Wyndham Championship finish in four appearances.
Scott became the first Australian to win the Masters after he birdied the second playoff hole to defeat Angel Cabrera in 2013. The former world No. 1 has 14 PGA TOUR victories and 14 international wins to his credit, but his last win came at the 2020 Genesis Invitational. His best finishes this season are tied for fourth at The Genesis Invitational, tied for fifth at The CJ Cup at Summit and tied for ninth at the World Golf Championships – Dell Technologies Match Play.
A resident of Switzerland, he is 81st in FedExCup points and 46th in the Official World Golf Rankings; he is one of just six players to qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs in all 15 seasons of the FedExCup era. Scott is a nine-time Presidents Cup player having played in each one since 2003.
Jason Day to Play Wyndham Championship
Jason Day will play the 2022 Wyndham Championship set for Aug. 3-7, 2022.
Day has 12 PGA TOUR victories to his credit including the 2015 PGA Championship. He won four other tournaments that season, highlighted by the BMW Championship in the FedExCup Playoffs. He later ascended to No. 1 in the Official World Golf Rankings and enjoyed that position for a total of 51 weeks.
“Jason Day is an incredible golfer who is working hard to complete his comeback from back troubles a few years ago,” executive director Mark Brazil said. “It’s always big news to have a former World No. 1 in the Wyndham Championship field. With his recent strong performances, we look forward to seeing him compete for the Sam Snead Cup in a few weeks.”
A native and resident of Australia, Day is 119th in the current FedExCup point standings and 141st in the Official World Golf Rankings in the Official World Golf Rankings. He is working to secure his 15th consecutive appearance in the FedExCup Playoffs which begin after the Wyndham Championship.
His best finishes this season are tied for third at the Farmers Insurance Open, his highest since 2018, tied for 10th at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and tied for 15th at the Wells Fargo Championship. He is a four-time member of the Presidents Cup international team. Day last played the Wyndham Championship in 2008 but missed the cut in his only previous appearance.
