2011 Wyndham Championship Winner Webb Simpson Joins the 2025 Field

Zach Johnson Joins 2025 Wyndham Field
Zach Johnson will play in the 2025 Wyndham Championship field. The 86th annual Wyndham Championship is set for July 30-Aug. 3, 2025 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
Johnson, a 12-time PGA TOUR winner who was the Ryder Cup captain in 2023 after playing in the event five times and playing in the Presidents Cup four times, won the Masters in 2007 and the Open Championship in 2015. He has nine previous Wyndham Championship appearances including each of the last six. His best finishes here are tied for fifth in 2013 and tied for seventh in 2020. He hasn’t won this season and is 116th in FedExCup points. His best finishes this season are tied for eighth at the Masters Tournament and tied for 18th at the Valero Texas Open.
Hideki Matsuyama Joins 2025 Wyndham Field

Matsuyama, the 2021 Masters champion and the first Japanese player to win a men’s major championship, is 21st in the current FedExCup point standings and 13th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He will make his ninth Wyndham Championship appearance next week; he finished tied for third in 2016 and tied for 11th in 2018 for his best finishes at Sedgefield. Matsuyama is an 11-time PGA TOUR winner with eight international victories to his credit. He won the Sentry early this season; more recently, he finished tied for 13th at the Scottish Open and tied for 16th at last week’s Open Championship. He is a native and resident of Japan. He represented Japan in the 2020 and ’24 Olympics and represented the international time six times in the Presidents Cup.
