2024 Wyndham Championship, fans will not be permitted on the Sedgefield Country Club grounds on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024.
Due to the forecast for dangerous weather conditions developing from the remnants of Hurricane Debby during tomorrow’s first round of the Wyndham Championship, fans will not be permitted on the Sedgefield Country Club grounds on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024.
Current plans are for the Wyndham Championship to begin as scheduled at 6:50 a.m. Thursday without fans in attendance. Play will continue as long as conditions allow. Thursday grounds tickets can be used for any one day through the completion of the tournament.
“This decision was a difficult one for us to make with our partners at the PGA TOUR, but everyone’s safety is our top priority,” Tournament Director Bobby Powell said. “The most-recent forecast looks like the storm could clear our area sometime Friday.”

Keegan Bradley to Play 2024 Wyndham
Keegan Bradley, the 2025 United States Ryder Cup Captain, will play the 2024 Wyndham Championship. The 85th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 8-11, 2024, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
Bradley is 43rd in FedExCup points and 21st in the Official World Golf Rankings. The six-time PGA TOUR winner hasn’t won this season, but he finished tied for second at the Charles Schwab Challenge and tied for 11th at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for his best 2024 finishes. A Woodstock, Vt., native living in Jupiter, Fla., Bradley will make his third Wyndham Championship start and his first since 2017. Bradley represented the United States in the Ryder Cup in 2012 and ’14 and the Presidents Cup in 2013. He is an alumnus of St. John’s University.
Jordan Spieth to Play 2024 Wyndham
Jordan Spieth will play the 2024 Wyndham Championship. The 85th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 8-11, 2024, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
Spieth won the Masters, the U.S. Open and the FedExCup championship in 2015 followed by the Open Championship in 2017. The 13-time PGA TOUR winner is 63rd in the FedExCup point standings and 37th in the Official World Golf Rankings. His best finishes this season are third at The Sentry, tied for sixth at the WM Phoenix Open and tied for 10th at the Valero Texas Open.
A native of Dallas, he will make his fourth Wyndham Championship appearance and his first since 2020. During his 2013 rookie season, he lost a two-hole playoff to Patrick Reed and finished second – still his best Wyndham Championship finish. He played in the Ryder Cup in 2014, ’16, ’18, ’21 and ‘23 and the Presidents Cup in 2013, ’15, ’17 and ‘22.
During his junior golf career, Spieth played the AJGA Wyndham Invitational presented by Odyssey at Sedgefield in 2008 and ’09 finishing tied for sixth and fourth, respectively. He started the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation in 2014 as a platform to lend time, awareness and financial assistance to Individuals with Special Needs, Junior Golf, Military Families and Veterans, and Pediatric Cancer.
