Luke Lanton will Play 2026 Wyndham

Luke Lanton, 22, set the mark for low Wyndham Championship finish by an amateur when he finished tied for fifth in 2024. He skipped his senior season at Florida State University and officially accepted PGA TOUR membership via PGA TOUR University Accelerated after the 2025 NCAA Championship. After a solo-fifth finish at the 2024 Wyndham Championship, Clanton followed Jack Nicklaus as the second amateur with three top-10s in a PGA TOUR season since 1961. He hasn’t won yet but finished tied for fifth at the Puerto Rico Open earlier this season.

Jackson Koivun to Play 2026 Wyndham

Jackson Koivun, 21, won the 3M Open, capturing his inaugural PGA TOUR victory in just his third start as a professional. He finished fifth in last year’s Wyndham Championship as an amateur – one of three top-six finishes he recorded last year. He earned PGA TOUR membership through PGA TOUR University Accelerated last year, but the No. 1 amateur in the world at that time chose to return to Auburn University and accept TOUR membership after this year’s U.S. Open. A native of San Jose, Calif., now playing from Chapel Hill, N.C., he is 70th in FedExCup points and 73rd in the Official World Golf Rankings. After playing this week’s Rocket Classic, he will make his fifth-career professional start at the 2026 Wyndham Championship.

Jordan Spieth to Play Wyndham Championship

Three-time Major winner and 2015 FedExCup champion Jordan Spieth will play the 2026 Wyndham Championship. The 87th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 5-9, 2026, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Spieth played in each of the last five Ryder Cup matches and four of the last five Presidents Cup matches. He nearly won the 2013 Wyndham Championship in his rookie season but lost a two-hole playoff to Patrick Reed. A native and resident of Dallas, he will make his third consecutive Wyndham Championship appearance and his sixth overall. Spieth won the Masters, the U.S. Open and the FedExCup championship in 2015 followed by the Open Championship in 2017. The 13-time PGA TOUR winner is 55th in FedExCup points and 57th in the Official World Golf Rankings. His best finishes this year are tied for 11th at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard and the Valspar Championship. “We are always happy to have Jordan back at the Wyndham Championship,” Executive Director Mark Brazil said. “He’s one of a handful of guys every tournament wants in their field, and we can’t wait to welcome him back to Sedgefield next week. Patrick Cantlay to Play 2026 Wyndham

Patrick Cantlay is an eight-time PGA TOUR winner who represented the United States in the Ryder Cup in 2020, ’23 and ’25 and the Presidents Cup in 2019, ’22 and ’24. The UCLA alumnus is 43rd in FedExCup points and 39th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He hasn’t won in 2026 but finished tied for seventh at the Valspar Championship, tied for eighth at the RBC Heritage and tied for 10th at the Truist Championship. Cantlay will make his third appearance at the 2026 Wyndham Championship and his first since 2014.

Keegan Bradley to Play 2026 Wyndham

Keegan Bradley, an 8-time PGA TOUR winner, is 76th in FedExCup points and 44th in the Official World Golf Rankings with five top-25 finishes this season. He won the 2025 Travelers Championship but has yet to win this season. He represented the United States as a Ryder Cup player in 2012 and ’14 and as captain last year and the Presidents Cup in 2013 and ’24. A native of Woodstock, Vt., now living in Jupiter, Fla., he will make his fifth Wyndham Championship appearance.

J.T. Poston to Play 2026 Wyndham

Poston captured his first PGA TOUR win at the 2019 Wyndham Championship and now owns four victories. He defeated Ryan Gerard in a playoff to win the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday and finished tied for fourth at the U.S. Open earlier this season. A native of Hickory, N.C., he is currently 28th in FedExCup points and 36th in the Official World Golf Rankings. The Western Carolina University alumnus will make his ninth appearance at the 2026 Wyndham Championship. He finished tied for 11th in 2025.

Justin Thomas to Play 2026 Wyndham

Two-time Major winner Justin Thomas will play the 2026 Wyndham Championship. The 87th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 5-9, 2026, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Thomas won the PGA Championship in 2017 and ’22. He hasn’t won yet this season but finished tied for eighth at the PLAYERS Championship and tied for fourth at the PGA Championship for his best finishes of the year. He is a 16-time PGA TOUR winner who is currently 39th in FedExCup points and 22nd in the Official World Golf Rankings. The 2017 FedExCup champion represented the United States in the Ryder Cup four times, and the Presidents Cup three times. He is making his fifth Wyndham Championship start and his first since 2023 when he finished tied for 12th after narrowly missing a birdie chip at the 72nd hole that would have put him into the FedExCup Playoffs. The University of Alabama alumnus is no stranger to Sedgefield Country Club; he won the 2009 AJGA Wyndham Invitational presented by Odyssey and claimed an exemption into the Wyndham Championship. Thomas was just 16 years old when he made his PGA TOUR debut that year; he fired an opening 65 followed by a two-over-par 72 to become the third-youngest player to make the 36-hole cut in PGA TOUR history. “Justin is one of the biggest stars on the PGA TOUR, and we’re always ecstatic when he plays the Wyndham Championship,” Executive Director Mark Brazil said. “With his extensive experience at Sedgefield, I would not be at all surprised to see the Sam Snead Cup in his hands Sunday evening.”

Gerard to Play 2026 Wyndham Championship

Ryan Gerard is 18th in FedExCup points and 24th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He is a Raleigh native who played collegiate golf at the University of North Carolina, and he is one of 129 AJGA Wyndham Invitational alumni that reached the PGA TOUR. He won his first PGA TOUR event at the Barracuda Championship last season and has three runner-up finishes this season. He finished second at the Sony Open in Hawaii, tied for second at the American Express and lost a playoff to JT Poston at The Memorial Tournament presented by Workday. He will make his third Wyndham Championship start.

Smalley to Play 2026 Wyndham Championship

Alex Smalley is 24th in FedExCup points and 45th in the Official World Golf Rankings. A native of Rochester, N.Y., now living in Greensboro, he played collegiate golf at Duke University. Smalley is still in search of his first win, but he has several excellent finishes this season including tied for second at the PGA Championship won by Aaron Rai. A member at Sedgefield Country Club, he also finished tied for second at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, tied for third at the Charles Schwab Challenge and tied for seventh at the Cadillac Championship. He will make his sixth consecutive Wyndham Championship start.

Webb Simpson will play the Wyndham Championship for the 18th Time

Webb Simpson will play the 2026 Wyndham Championship. The 87th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 5-9, 2026, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Simpson, who leads the Wyndham Championship career money-winners list with $4,084,205 in 17 starts, continues to work his way back into form following neck injuries; he has made only eight starts this season. He captured his first PGA TOUR victory here in 2011 and went on to win the 2012 U.S. Open 10 months later. He has three top-three finishes and seven top-10 finishes here in addition to his win. The Wake Forest University alumnus represented the United States in the Ryder Cup in 2012, ‘14 and ‘18, the Presidents Cup in 2011, ‘13 and ‘19 and the Walker Cup in 2007. He will make his 18th Wyndham Championship.

Glover to Play 2026 Wyndham Championship

The 87th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 5-9, 2026, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Glover won the Wyndham Championship in 2023 and then went on to win the first FedExCup playoff event in Memphis, Tenn., the next week. Glover’s most-recent starts are his best of the season; he finished tied for third at the John Deere Classic and tied for fifth at the ISCO Championship, yet he is 86th in FedExCup points and 90th in the Official World Golf Rankings. The six-time PGA TOUR winner will make his 22nd-consecutive Wyndham Championship start next month,

Brandt Snedeker to play the 2026 Wyndham

Brandt Snedeker will play the 2026 Wyndham Championship. The 87th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 5-9, 2026, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Snedeker fired a 5-under par 66 in the final round to win the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic, his first win since capturing his second Wyndham Championship in 2018. With the win, the United States Presidents Cup team captain earned a two-year exemption on TOUR allowing him to play with those trying to make his Presidents Cup team. Snedeker is 81st in FedExCup points putting him in position to make the FedExCup playoffs should he get inside the top 70 by the end of the regular season. Snedeker, who won his first PGA TOUR event at the 2007 Wyndham Championship, will make his 18th appearance here.

Brooks Koepka to play 2026 Wyndham

Five-time Major champion Brooks Koepka will play the 2026 Wyndham Championship. The 87th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 5-9, 2026, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Koepka has nine PGA TOUR wins, and five of them are Major championships. He won the U.S. Open in 2017 and ’18 and added PGA Championships in 2018, ‘19 and ’23. He represented the United States in the Ryder Cup four times and in the Presidents Cup once. He also has seven international wins. Koepka is 82nd in FedExCup points and 111th in the Official World Golf Rankings as he works his way back into regular PGA TOUR competition. He will make his fourth Wyndham Championship start next month and his first since 2020. The Florida State University alumnus finished tied for sixth in 2015 for his best Sedgefield showing. “When a five-time Major winner joins the field, it’s big news for any PGA TOUR event,” Executive Director Mark Brazil said. “We are thrilled to welcome Brooks back to the Wyndham Championship. He’s won more majors than anyone else over the past decade, and he’s a major addition to our field.”

Si Woo Kim will play the 2026 Wyndham Championship. The 87th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 5-9, 2026, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Kim, who won the Wyndham Championship in 2016 is seventh in FedExCup points and 18th in the Official World Golf Rankings. Kim has 10 top-10 finishes this season including runner-up finishes at the Farmers Insurance Open and the CJ Cup Byron Nelson. More recently, he finished tied for sixth at the Open Championship and tied for ninth at the Scottish Open. A native of South Korea now living in Dallas, he played for the International Team in the Presidents Cup three times. He will make his ninth-consecutive appearance at Sedgefield and his 11th overall.

Aaron Rai to play 2026 Wyndham Championship

Aaron Rai, winner of the 2026 PGA Championship, will play the 2026 Wyndham Championship. The 87th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 5-9, 2026, at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Rai won the PGA Championship May 17 at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pa., shooting a final round 5-under 65 to take a three-stroke win over Alex Smalley and Jon Rahm. He became the first English-born player to win the PGA since Jim Barnes in 1919. In addition to his PGA Championship win, Rai’s best finishes this year are fifth at the OneFlight Myrtle Beach Classic and tied for 11th at the U.S. Open. He is currently 33rd in FedExCup points and 20th in the Official World Golf Rankings. “Having the reigning PGA Champion in the Wyndham Championship field is a big deal,” Executive Director Mark Brazil said. “Aaron showed the world what a great player is when he won by three on a very difficult golf course, but we saw him play 72 holes in three days at Sedgefield Country Club so we already knew he had it in him. We’re so happy for Aaron to win a Major and look forward to welcoming him back to Sedgefield.” Rai captured his first PGA TOUR win at Sedgefield in 2024, but with five international victories already to his credit, he was far from a rookie. He battled through 72 holes in just three days after the opening round was delayed until Friday due to the remnants of Hurricane Debby. He closed with a bogey-free 64 finishing almost in the dark. Rai will make his fifth-consecutive Wyndham Championship appearance; he finished tied for fifth last year after winning in 2024.

Robert A (Bobby) Davis, 65, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13th, 2026. He was born on August 22nd, 1960 in Rochester, NY. He was a 1978 graduate of Martinsville High School, where he was active in the Marching, Concert and Jazz Bands and also played baseball. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1983, and was a passionate Hokie fan until his death. Bobby worked for Patterson-Pope of Charlotte NC, and was the sales representative for the Triad Area for 38 years, and was also a part owner. He took great pleasure in promoting his company and their products. He retired in 2025. Bobby loved sports, he played tennis and golf with success in both. In later years, became a serious Hockey fan. He was also a proud Hokie and supported their teams with enthusiasm. He was active in the Jaycees and chaired the Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic in 1999, enabling him to spend two years traveling to golf tournaments around the country. He was an avid fisherman, especially deep sea fishing. He participated in Reeling for Research, a fishing tournament, for 2 years. Bobby is going to leave a great hole in his community and his church. Bobby loved life and lived life to the fullest, connecting and keeping in touch with people throughout his life. He had an amazing ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He was passionate about his beliefs, with a strong belief in God. He is survived by his father Milton (Nancy) Davis, his fiancée Tabatha Thabet, his sister Katie (David) Coughlen, Nephews Kyle (Denise) Coughlen, and Sean (Taylor) Coughlen, step-sister Liz Jackman, step-brother John (JJ) Jackman, 2 great nephews and 1 great niece. He was predeceased by his mother Suzanne Davis in 1984. Family, friends and others whose lives Bobby touched are invited to a memorial service on July 25, 2026 at 1 pm at the Guilford College United Methodist Church, 1205 Fleming Rd, Greensboro, NC with a reception to follow. 2026 Wyndham Championship Cameron Young Will Defend Title

Cameron Young, who captured his first PGA TOUR victory at last year’s Wyndham Championship, will defend his title at the 87th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 5-9, 2026 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Young is currently third in FedExCup points and third in the Official World Golf Rankings. After winning the Wyndham Championship, he finished no lower than 11th in the FedExCup Playoffs. He finished fifth at the FedEx Championship, 11th at the BMW Championship and tied for fourth at the TOUR Championship – which became his final FedExCup position. From there, he played on the United States Ryder Cup team for the first time and was the best player on the team going 3-1 and defeating Justin Rose in Sunday singles. This season, he won the PLAYERS Championship in March, his second win in 11 starts and finished tied for third at the Masters Tournament a month later. Two weeks later, despite calling a penalty on himself in the final round, he dominated the signature event field at the Cadillac Championship in Miami winning by six strokes – just like he did at the Wyndham Championship. “We figured that, as soon as Cam won, it would be contagious, and he’d win a lot more in a hurry,” Executive Director Mark Brazil said. “Now he’s one of the top players in the world, and he has the firepower to compete with anyone. It’s a lot of fun for us to see a great young talented player win his first one here at the Wyndham Championship. For Cam to go on this heater and jump to No. 3 in the world and third in FedExCup is amazing to watch, and we’re obviously thrilled he’ll be back with us in August.” Following his victory at THE PLAYERS Championship in March, Wake Forest University announced the Cameron Young Family Men’s Golf Scholarship. Young said of the scholarship, “Wake Forest gave me an unbelievable foundation, not just in golf but in life. This scholarship is about giving others the same opportunity I had.” Young is the fourth Wake Forest alumnus to win the Wyndham Championship. He follows Lanny Wadkins (1983), Scott Hoch (2001) and Webb Simpson (2011). He will make his third-consecutive Wyndham Championship start this summer.
