Robert A (Bobby) Davis

Robert A (Bobby) Davis, 65, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13th, 2026. He was born on August 22nd, 1960 in Rochester, NY. He was a 1978 graduate of Martinsville High School, where he was active in the Marching, Concert and Jazz Bands and also played baseball. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1983, and was a passionate Hokie fan until his death. Bobby worked for Patterson-Pope of Charlotte NC, and was the sales representative for the Triad Area for 38 years, and was also a part owner. He took great pleasure in promoting his company and their products. He retired in 2025. Bobby loved sports, he played tennis and golf with success in both. In later years, became a serious Hockey fan. He was also a proud Hokie and supported their teams with enthusiasm. He was active in the Jaycees and chaired the Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic in 1999, enabling him to spend two years traveling to golf tournaments around the country. He was an avid fisherman, especially deep sea fishing. He participated in Reeling for Research, a fishing tournament, for 2 years. Bobby is going to leave a great hole in his community and his church. Bobby loved life and lived life to the fullest, connecting and keeping in touch with people throughout his life. He had an amazing ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. He was passionate about his beliefs, with a strong belief in God. He is survived by his father Milton (Nancy) Davis, his fiancée Tabatha Thabet, his sister Katie (David) Coughlen, Nephews Kyle (Denise) Coughlen, and Sean (Taylor) Coughlen, step-sister Liz Jackman, step-brother John (JJ) Jackman, 2 great nephews and 1 great niece. He was predeceased by his mother Suzanne Davis in 1984. Family, friends and others whose lives Bobby touched are invited to a memorial service on July 25, 2026 at 1 pm at the Guilford College United Methodist Church, 1205 Fleming Rd, Greensboro, NC with a reception to follow.
