2015 Wyndham Championship Date Set
The PGA TOUR has released its 2015 schedule, and the Wyndham Championship will return to the late-season slot it has occupied since 2007.
The 2015 Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 17-23, 2015 at Sedgefield Country Club a week later than usual. It will still be the final regular-season event and set the field for the FedExCup Playoffs which begin the following week. During the FedExCup playoffs, the TOUR will take a week off between the Deutsche Bank Championship on Labor Day weekend and the BMW Championship, the third of four playoff tournaments.
“The 2015 PGA TOUR schedule works well for the Wyndham Championship,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “The off week during the playoffs is important for us because it means golfers that play the World Golf Championship Bridgestone Invitational, the PGA Championship, the Wyndham and all four playoff events won’t have to play seven consecutive weeks. Historically, that off week has had a positive impact on the strength of our field. In addition, with the later week, we hope families will have completed their late-summer vacations and can be back in town when the PGA TOUR is here.”
