Rafael Cabrera Bello and Jon Rahm join 2016 Wyndham Championship Field

Rafael Cabrera Bello and Jon Rahm, two of the biggest stars in Spanish golf, have accepted sponsor’s exemptions and will play the 2016 Wyndham Championship. The 77th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 15-21, 2016 at Sedgefield Country Club. After representing Spain in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Cabrera Bello will fly to North Carolina to make his second Wyndham Championship appearance. A fulltime member of the European Tour, Cabrera Bello is fourth in the current European Tour Race to Dubai point standings trailing only Masters champion Danny Willett, Open Championship winner Henrik Stenson and world No. 4 Rory McIlroy; he is currently 27th in the Official World Golf Rankings. Cabrera Bello still seeks his first PGA TOUR win, but he finished third at the World Golf Championships Dell Match Play, fourth at the Shell Houston Open and has two runner-up finishes in European Tour play this season. Cabrera Bello represented Europe in the 1999 Junior Ryder Cup matches when the United States captain was Wyndham Championship tournament director Mark Brazil.
