Graeme McDowell and Jim Furyk Join 2016 Wyndham Championship Field
Graeme McDowell and Jim Furyk will play the 2016 Wyndham Championship on Aug. 15-21 at Sedgefield Country Club.
McDowell won the U.S. Open in 2010; he has three PGA TOUR victories and eight international wins. He won the OHL Classic at Mayakoba, recorded top-five finishes at the RSM Classic and the Honda Classic and finished tied for ninth at the Players Championship earlier this season. He represented the European Team in the Ryder Cup four times. A native of Portrush, Northern Ireland, McDowell is 31st in the current FedExCup point standings and 75th in the Official World Golf Rankings. The University of Alabama-Birmingham alumnus will make his first Wyndham Championship start this year.
Furyk has 17 PGA TOUR victories to his credit including the 2003 U.S. Open. Furyk will make his 13th Wyndham Championship appearance but his first since 2011 when he finished tied for ninth; he has four top-10 finishes here. Furyk suffered a wrist injury in late 2015 and returned to the PGA TOUR at the Wells Fargo Championship in Charlotte.
