Hideki Matsuyama Joins 2025 Wyndham Field
Hideki Matsuyama to play the 2025 Wyndham Championship field.
Matsuyama, the 2021 Masters champion and the first Japanese player to win a men’s major championship, is 21st in the current FedExCup point standings and 13th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He will make his ninth Wyndham Championship appearance next week; he finished tied for third in 2016 and tied for 11th in 2018 for his best finishes at Sedgefield. Matsuyama is an 11-time PGA TOUR winner with eight international victories to his credit. He won the Sentry early this season; more recently, he finished tied for 13th at the Scottish Open and tied for 16th at last week’s Open Championship. He is a native and resident of Japan. He represented Japan in the 2020 and ’24 Olympics and represented the international time six times in the Presidents Cup.
