Sam Snead Cup
The "Sam Snead Cup" Awarded to Sam Snead for Career Achievement at The Greater Greensboro Open. Snead holds a pair of records related to the tournament, most notably his eight victories which stands as the most victories for any golfer in a single PGA Tour event. His final victory in 1965 at age fifty-three still stands as the record for the oldest player to claim a PGA Tour win.
The trophy is engraved, "Sam Snead Cup," with the silver band at the base engraved with the details: "Sam Snead, Greensboro's Greatest Champion, Eight-time Winner of the Greater Greensboro Open, 1938, 1946, 1949, 1950, 1955, 1956, 1960, 1965." The trophy measures seventeen inches in height. No maker's marks, but constructon appears to be sterling silver.
