The ggoblogger likes tradition and was sad to see one die over the last couple of years. For years, members of the executive committee of the tournament held in Greensboro would meet poolside moments after the last putt dropped to jump into the pool to celebrate the tournament's success.
This tradition soon ended when the tournament moved to the fall. Now the Greater Greensboro Open Blog was never sure how this celebration began and it is not sure why it ended. At one point we were told that the executive committee was told not to report poolside and that "Chrysler thought it was tacky".
The ggoblogger was also told a one point that the real reason the tradition was ended was because of the cost of keeping the water in the pool ready for the October splash.
Both are good reasons, but now that the event has moved to the warm summer month of August, surely we must reconsider this time honored tradition once again. So play along an answer the poll question at the side of this blog.
