"William Leigh (Bill) Glasgow, 82, died Sunday, March 2, 2008, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. A celebration of his life was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4, at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 3506 Lawndale Drive.
Bill was born February 14, 1926, in Bermuda, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rodney Glasgow of Littleton, N.C. He graduated from NC State University with a degree in mechanical engineering and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
His professional career in heating and air began with Glasgow-Graham. He later retired from Hoffman and Hoffman, Inc. As a long-time member of the Greensboro Jaycees, Bill served as president both locally and internationally and was a member of the Green Coat Club. After retiring, Bill worked as the coordinator of volunteers for Healthserve then as director of special events for The Greensboro Urban Ministry. He loved photography, baseball, and was an avid tennis player. "
