Webb Simpson and Bill Haas will play 2015 Wyndham Championship
Wake Forest alumni Webb Simpson and Bill Haas will play in the 2015 Wyndham Championship along with the Wake Forest University golf coach, Jerry Haas. The 76th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 17-23, 2015 at Sedgefield Country Club.
Webb Simpson won his first-career PGA TOUR victory at the Wyndham in 2011. The Raleigh native will be making his seventh-consecutive Wyndham Championship appearance; he finished tied for fifth last year.
Haas finished tied for second at last year’s 75th anniversary Wyndham Championship finishing one stroke behind winner Camilo Villegas. The 2011 FedExCup champion won the Humana Challenge in partnership with the Clinton Foundation earlier this year; it was his sixth PGA TOUR victory. Haas made his first PGA TOUR start at the Piedmont Triad’s PGA TOUR event in 2002 when he was still in school at Wake Forest. Since then, Haas has played the Wyndham in each of the last nine years.
Haas’ uncle, Jerry, who is also the Wake Forest University men’s golf coach, will play the Wyndham Championship this year as the Carolinas PGA Section champion. It will be his fourth appearance in the tournament.
