Harold Varner to Play Wyndham Championship

Harold Varner III to play the 2022 Wyndham Championship set for Aug. 3-7, 2022 at Sedgefield Country Club. The East Carolina University alumnus won the PIF Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisors early this year – it was his second international victory, but he is still seeking his first PGA TOUR win. His best finishes this season are tied for third at the RBC Heritage, tied for fourth at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and tied for sixth at THE PLAYERS Championship. Varner is a huge fan favorite making his seventh Wyndham Championship appearance; he was tied for the lead after the first round and finished tied for seventh in 2020 for his best Wyndham Championship finish. The Charlotte resident is 55th in the current FedExCup point standings and 37th in the Official World Golf Rankings. “Harold has a magnetic personality that translates into how he plays and how he conducts himself,” executive director Mark Brazil said. “His outgoing, fun-loving nature is what makes him such a fan favorite, and it’s one of the reasons he’s one of the most-popular players on TOUR.
