Hideki Matsuyama to Play 2023 Wyndham

Hideki Matsuyama will play the 2023 Wyndham Championship. The 84th annual Wyndham Championship is set for Aug. 2-6, 2023 at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C. Matsuyama, the 2021 Masters champion and the first Japanese player to win a men’s major championship, is 54th in the current FedExCup point standings and 29th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He will make his eighth Wyndham Championship appearance next week; he finished tied for third in 2016 and tied for 11th in 2018 for his best finishes at Sedgefield. Matsuyama is an eight-time PGA TOUR winner with eight international victories to his credit. He won the Zozo Championship and the Sony Open in Hawaii last season but has yet to hoist a trophy in 2023. His best finishes this season are fifth at the PLAYERS Championship, tied for ninth at the Farmers Insurance Classic and tied for 13th at both the Travelers Championship and last week’s Open Championship. He is a native and resident of Japan.
