At the end of 1998, the Greensboro Jaycees announced the next two General Chairmen of the NIKE Greensboro Open tournament. The 1999 chairman was Mike Barber and the 2000 chairman was Rick Printz. The tournament received a big boost when Time Warner signed a $50,000 sponsorship deal for the Wednesday Pro-Am.
The 2000 event, lead by Rick Printz, changed tour sponsors and became the Greensboro Buy.Com.
