2008 Masters Champion Trevor Immelman, Davis Love III, Steve Marino, Jason Bohn and Kevin Stadler have all joined the 2010 Wyndham Championship field. The event begins Monday, Aug. 16 at Sedgefield Country Club.
Immelman won the Masters in 2008 in just his ninth tournament after returning to the PGA TOUR from a medical leave. Last year, the South African golfer was limited to 13 events due to tendinitis and had surgery in the fall. This year, he has played just 13 events and is just 151st in the FedExCup point standings. He has never played the Wyndham Championship.
Love is a two-time winner of the Piedmont Triad’s PGA TOUR event. The University of North Carolina alumnus won here in 1992 and 2006. Love is second on the Wyndham Championship’s career money list with $1,314,536 won at this event. He has 20 career victories including the 1997 PGA Championship.
Marino has played the Wyndham Championship in each of the last three years, and he recorded his best finish here last year when he tied for 10th place. The University of Virginia alumnus is currently 53rd in the FedExCup point standings and 67th in the Official World Golf Rankings. He finished 15th in the 2009 FedExCup point standings.
Bohn and Stadler return to the Wyndham after competing in the thrilling three-hole playoff that gave Ryan Moore his first PGA TOUR win at last year’s Wyndham Championship. Bohn has three top-three finishes in his four Wyndham Championship appearances. He finished third 2005, second in 2006 and tied for second last year. Bohn is currently 26th in the FedExCup point standings.
