Bradley E. Faircloth

Mr. Bradley E. Faircloth, 82, of Greensboro, departed from this life on Saturday, August 25, 2012, at Beacon Place in Greensboro. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 2:00 pm at West Market Street United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. A private family committal service will be held prior to the service at Westminster Gardens Cemetery. Born in Fayetteville, NC, to the late Grady and Elmer Faircloth, Brad lived in Greensboro the majority of his life. He attended Duke University and retired from J.D. Wilkins as their Controller. Brad officiated college football for years. He retired from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) as assistant to the commissioner in charge of football officials. Brad was inducted into The College Football Hall of Fame, The North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame, and The Guilford County Sports Hall of Fame. He was instrumental in establishing the Corrigan –Faircloth Chapter of The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame. Brad was very active in numerous civic organizations and was very giving of his time. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed spending time with friends and family. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew him. Those left to cherish his memory his dear friend, Margie Lilly of Greensboro; daughter, Susan C. Faircloth of Greensboro; sons, Bradley E. Faircloth, Jr. of Greensboro and Tim L. Faircloth of Raleigh; brother, John N. Faircloth of Charlotte; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday evening at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel.
