"During the 1987 GGO, the weather was so bad — cold, rain, hail, snow — that Solomon wondered how he would get another golfer to come back. “The ’88 tournament was the 50th anniversary, and we were convinced it would be the last. The weather was just killing us. We begged players to come. They said, ‘I’m not going to go to Greensboro and get sick the week before the Masters.’ ”
