Anonymous Comment of the Week

"It's about time. (The Wyndham Championship moved.) I mean no offense to those who enjoy Forest Oaks, but in all honesty it is a mediocre golf course. It's no wonder we regularly attract the bottom barrel of PGA players to our tournament; the course is bland, unattractive, and completely unmemorable.

Both Sedgefield and Starmount are vastly superior layouts.Of course, with the tournament's current place on the calender (following the PGA Championship and preceding the "playoffs"), players like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson won't come here regardless. But maybe we can at least stop having one of the weakest fields on tour (if not THE weakest)."

(Thanks for reading the Greater Greensboro Open Blog. While the ggoblogger will not argue that Starmount and Sedgefield have fine course designs, I think its hard to agree with the thought that the PGA TOUR's top players stay away from Greensboro because Forest Oaks is "bland".)
