Greensboro Jaycees and Wyndham Championship Archive Time Line

2004 Randy Harris and Kevin von der Lippe host an archive drive at Greensboro Jaycee office where the public is encouraged to donate items to the Jaycee/Wyndham archive. The event draws media coverage from two local papers and Kevin von der Lippe appears live on WXII to promote the event. An original 1938 GGO ticket is donated to the club. The ticket is then given to the Greensboro Historical Museum.

2004 October 2, 2004 to February 27, 2005 The Greensboro Historical Museum host an exhibit entitled Golf: The Greatest Game in which items from the Jaycee/Wyndham archives are displayed to public.

2005 Greater Greensboro Open Blog begins featuring tournament archives for the first time.

2005 Wyndham Championship featured a history tent that welcomed every visitor that entered the course at Forest Oaks.

2005 Archives were used to complete a request from the New York State Chamber of Commerce for photos of 1985 GGO winner Joey Sindelar.

2006 Items were used at the Green Coat Club reception held at Sedgefield Country Club.

2006 In October of 2006 Randy Harris and Kevin von der Lippe are interviewed by Jim Schlosser for an article on the Jaycee/Wyndham archives for the Greensboro News and Record.

2008 A GGO Thing: A Brief History of the Greater Greensboro Open Commemorative Decanters is released featuring items and stories from the Jaycee/Wyndham archives.

2008 August 17, 2008 Jim Schlosser writes an article detailing the sale of GGO decanter that promotes A GGO Thing. http://www.newsrecord.com/content/2008/08/17/article/abc_stores_saw_first_sign_of_tourney

2008 Carol Brooks from the Jamestown News writes an article about the Jaycee/Wyndham archives.

2009 Items from the Jaycee/Wyndham archives are featured in the 2009 Wyndham Champions program.

2010 GMA Annual Dinner spotlights the Wyndham Championship. Items from the archives are put on display in ballroom and photos were used in a slide show.
