Hatton, Molinari and Willett to Play 2022 Wyndham Championship

Tyrell Hatton, Francesco Molinari and Danny Willett will play the 2022 Wyndham Championship set for Aug. 3-7, 2022 at Sedgefield Country Club. Hatton is 14th in the DP World Tour standings, 58th in the FedExCup point standings and 28th in the Official World Golf Rankings. A native and resident of England, he has one PGA TOUR victory and six international wins including last year’s Abd Dhabi HSBC Championship. His best PGA TOUR finishes this year are tied for second at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, tied for ninth at the World Golf Championships – Del Technologies Match Play, tied for 11th at last week’s Open Championship at St. Andrews and tied for 13th at the PGA Championship. He missed the cut here in 2016, his only previous Wyndham Championship appearance. He represented Europe in the Ryder Cup in 2018 and ’20. Molinari, who won the Open Championship in 2018, is a six-time European Tour winner with three PGA TOUR victories to his credit. A native of Turin, Italy now living in Los Angeles, he represented the European team in the Ryder Cup in 2010,’12 and ‘18. He will make his third Wyndham Championship start next month; he finished tied for 24th in 2014 and missed the cut last year. He hasn’t won yet this season but finished tied for sixth at The American Express, tied for 15th at the Open Championship and tied for 17th at the AT&T Byron Nelson. With only 17 starts this season, Molinari is 148th in the DP World Tour standings, 142nd in FedExCup points and 147th in the Official World Golf Rankings. Willett, the 2016 Masters champion, is a native and resident of Sheffield, England. His Masters victory is his lone PGA TOUR win, but he also has seven European Tour victories to his credit. Earlier this season, he finished tied for 12th at the Masters, tied for 21st at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and tied for 21st at the Shriner Hospitals Open. He is 118th in the DP World Tour standings, 137th in the current FedExCup point standings and 136th in the Official World Golf Rankings. Willett represented the European Team in the 2016 Ryder Cup and represented England in the 2016 Summer Olympics. He missed the cut in 2020 during his only previous Wyndham Championship appearance.
