"Hello all!
I am in Tucson, Arizona for the week for PGA TOUR meetings, and latertoday (4:30 Mountain Time) the PGA TOUR will be presenting theirVolunteer of the Year award.
In November, I nominated one of ourvolunteers for this award. His name is Marty Sheets, and out of all thetournaments, Marty won the prestigious Volunteer of the Year award!!!This is a neat story. Marty has been a standard bearer for 15 yearswith us, and in recent years Marty has walked with the final group.
Marty has also won the Special Olympics state golf championship manytimes. Marty has Down Syndrome, and I'm pretty sure he is around 50years old. Marty's professionalism and enthusiasm is unmatched, andthis is the first time one of our volunteers has won this award. Iwanted to share this with you before the announcement took place, and weare on top of this in regards to local media. PGA TOUR is handling the national media.
Thanks,
Mark Brazil"

Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro Remembers Stanley Frank
"Its hard to look back on 2006 without remembering one of Greensboro's finest - Stanley Frank. Stanley was a founding board member of the Foundation and established his family foundation as a supporting organization. Stanley was a visionary whose leadership and impact to this community will be felt for years and his family's legacy of supporting Greensboro will continue for generations. I am very fortunate to have gotten to know Stanley and will always remember our conversations and his advice in so many areas;"

Cool KGGO Item on eBay
KMART GREATER GREENSBORO OPEN 1989 GOLFER STATUE PLAYER GIFT
Item number: 180086109381
"This statue was gift to players at the (Kmart) Greater Greensboro Open in 1989. It does have an artists signature along with a copyright date of 1987. I was unable to read the entire name but what I could read was "Michael Gapmo**?". Statue stands about 11 inches tall. I am not sure what it is made of but it is quite heavy, weighing over three pounds. There are a couple of flakes to the paint coating (?), the largest one can be seen in the photo of the signature on the base. Brass plate is loose on one end, but I left that in case a new owner wanted to remove it. This makes a nice display piece with golf memorabilia or it could be used as a trophy with a new engraved plate. Priority mail will be $13.50, insurance optional but highly recommended as I cannot be held responsible with how the Post Office treats the package once I mail it! No reserve."

Comment of the Week
"Amen! Forest Oaks has served this event well for years. The Jaycees want a pretty clubhouse and a more upscale CC. The truth is Sedgefield is too tight for event crowds to be comfortable! This event will be given to corp. sponsors and smaller crowds. Forest Oaks is a better course even after they force the longer D. Ross design at Sedgefield. Bet the pros will be very happy to bus over to Grandover for practice range time! "

WYNDHAM WORLDWIDE REPORTS STRONG FOURTH QUARTER AND FULL YEAR 2006 RESULTS
"We finished the year with great momentum in each of our three businesses," said Stephen P. Holmes, Wyndham Worldwide chairman and chief executive officer. "We posted double-digit revenue and Adjusted EBITDA growth in the fourth quarter of 2006. Our portfolio of diverse brands, locations and products gives us great financial stability, particularly since more than half of our revenue stems from fees related to services for consumers and business partners. Our strength in leisure accommodations allows us to capture share and expand our presence in a growing global travel industry."
