Sam Snead won the Greater Greensboro Open eight times, the first in 1938 and the last time in 1965 at the age of 52. He was the oldest man to ever win on the PGA TOUR. He had a total of 81 victories. Sam Snead's portrait hangs at the Greensboro Jaycee office.
