WFMY Reports Garcia Will Play CCG

"Garcia, a fan-favorite PGA TOUR golfer, has officially committed to participate in this year's Chrysler Classic, set for September 26-October 2 at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro.Tournament officials also announced that other pros that have made recent commitments to the Chrysler Classic include President's Cup team members Stewart Cink and Tim Clark, two-time Masters champion Bernhard Langer and Wake Forest alumnus Billy Andrade.

Garcia is No. 6 in the World Golf Rankings and No. 9 on the current PGA TOUR Official Money List. Garcia has logged one TOUR victory in 2005, winning June's Booz Allen Classic at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland.The Borriol, Spain resident battled for the lead in Sunday's World Golf Championship NEC Invitational and has earned $2,642,458 in just 17 events this season.

"It's fantastic to have Sergio in our field," Chrysler Classic tournament director Mark Brazil said. "There are about six golfers on the PGA TOUR that every tournament director wants to have in their field, and we now have three of them.
