The Carson Bain Memory Walk will be held at Jaycee Park on Saturday, June 3, 2006 beginning at 8:00 am.
Resgistration begins at 8 am and the walk will be conducted from 9:00 am until 11am. The Memory Walk is the signature event of the Alzheimer's Association, raising much needed awareness and funds for local programs and services benefiting families and individuals with the Alzheimers disease.
The Alzheimer's Association chose to honor Carson Bain, who suffers from the disease, for his lifetime of civic involvement in Greensboro and Guilford County. Carson Bain served as mayor of Greensboro, Guilford County Commissioner, Greensboro School board member, 1950 Greater Greensboro Open General Chairman, 1959 Honorary Greater Greensboro Open General Chairman, and 1951 President of the Greensboro Jaycees. He was also the founder of the Greensboro Generals Hockey Team.
For more information about the Carson Bain Memory Walk contact this year's chairman Bobby Bain at (336) 299-0531.
