Davidson College alumnus Stephen Curry, former Charlotte Hornets player Del Curry, and LPGA players Marcy Hart and Anna Rawson will play in the Wyndham Championship Pro-Ams, it was announced today.
Stephen Curry will play in the New Breed Logistics Pro-Am on Wednesday, Aug. 19. Curry played three seasons for the Davidson Wildcats and led the nation in scoring with 28.6 points per game in the 2008-09 NCAA men’s basketball season. He entered the NBA draft following his junior year and was selected by the Golden State Warriors as the seventh overall pick. He is an alumnus of Charlotte Christian School.
Stephen Curry’s father, Del, will also compete in the New Breed Logistics Pro-Am. The elder Curry retired from the NBA in 2002 after a 16-year career during which he played 11 seasons for the former Charlotte Hornets. He served as an assistant coach for the Charlotte Bobcats in 2007 and is an alumnus of Virginia Tech University where is a member of the Hall of Fame.
