Wyndham Championship Block Party

Jamestown is throwing a party to officially kick off Wyndham Championship week. The inaugural Jamestown Swing into the Wyndham Championship is set for Saturday, Aug. 15 from 3 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

Jamestown Swing into the Wyndham Championship will feature seven bands performing on two stages at opposite ends of the event, food vendors, two beer gardens and a wine tasting area. The event will occupy the entire length of Gannaway Street in Jamestown. Admission is just $10 for adults and $5 for students with members of the military admitted free of charge.

The featured bands are Martha and the Moodswingers, Shaggie Maggie, One Leg Up and Blues World Order performing on the “swing stage” with Hot Politics, Five Gallon Groove and Walrus performing on the “rock stage.” Additional information is available at www.jamestownswing.com.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Ragsdale Family Branch YMCA “We Build People” campaign, a charitable YMCA program supporting the Open Doors scholarship program. Gifts to “We Build People” keep memberships and programs at the Y affordable and open to everyone. YMCA programs supported include camp and childcare, sports and aquatics, health and wellness and teens.

“We really appreciate the great people in Jamestown stepping up to support the Wyndham Championship in such a big way,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “An event this large requires a huge amount of preparation, planning and commitment, and the Jamestown Swing will be a fantastic way to kick off Wyndham Championship week in the Piedmont Triad."
