North Carolina A&T Chancellor Stepping Down

"The chancellor at North Carolina A&T State University said Friday he was stepping down to take a position at the American Council on Education in Washington.

James C. Renick will become the council's senior vice president for programs and research. He starts his new job June 1.

Renick has been chancellor and professor of political science at the university since July 1999. Before that, he had been chancellor and professor at the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

Renick said the last seven years have been the highlight of his professional life.
"N.C. A&T is a very special place in the constellation of American higher education,"Renick said.'I will always consider myself a proud Aggie!'"
