It may have been the tournament's field or the new location or the positive local media coverage-but something brought out the crowds Friday. The ggoblogger and fellow Green Coater Kevin von der Lippe took the first shift as "Ambassadors" on Friday morning. The two stood at the main shuttle drop off and handed out pairing guides to eager golf fans as they got off the bus.
This is the fourth year the Harris and von der Lippe have taken on this task, but this is the first year they have worked up a sweat doing it. "The crowds were amazing," Harris told von der Lippe as he opened another box of guides. The two Green Coaters gave away 3,000 pairing guides between 9:00am and 11:00 am before turning over their responsibilities to Randy Cobb.
"It's hard to believe the crowds were so big on a Friday," Harris said.
