Natalie (Murray) Carroll, 80, of Manchester, died Thursday, August 18, 2005. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, William C. Carroll, in 1999, and by her oldest daughter, Vivien C. MacKechnie, in 2004.
"Tal" was born in Hartford in 1925. She graduated from Saint Joseph Cathedral in 1940, from Mount St. Joseph Academy in 1943, earned her bachelor of arts degree from the University of Connecticut in 1972, and received her Phi Beta Kappa Key, also from UConn, in 1972.
She is survived by her youngest daughter, Lisa Carroll and Hersul Huyghue of South Windsor; son-in-law, Lewis MacKechnie; granddaughter, Kelly MacKechnie; and grandson, Matthew MacKechnie, all of Vernon. Natalie is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Nancy and George "Ted" LaBonne of Danbury; sister Muriel Balboni of Virginia; sister-in-law, Nancy Carroll of North Fort Myers, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and daughter, she was predeceased by her parents, William A. and Vivien M. Murray, two brothers, William A. Murray Jr. and James Murray, and two sisters, Janet Schear and Katherine Ellis.Natalie's family would like to thank the staff at Salmon Brook Center in Glastonbury for their exceptional care. Special thanks to Lucille, Wayne, and Rhonda.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 20, 9 a.m., at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St., Manchester, with burial immediately following at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield.
